Tim Duncan Retires and So is This Blog

I never thought this day would come.

Well, that's not entirely true. I always knew that retirement would soon be an option for Tim Duncan. I just never thought that it would be this soon.

My heart breaks as I recall the very first time I watched an NBA game, the conference finals game between the LA Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs lost that game alright, but my liking to the team didn't waver. Soon, season after season, I would watch them play and not one bit I doubted their ability on winning more championships. That's probably because I knew Tim Duncan is there for the team.

So, when I heard that Tim is retiring from the NBA, I -- was sad. But as the news sinks in, I told myself, I shouldn't be sad instead I should be grateful because I was able to watch him play with the San Antonio Spurs for many seasons and understand his greatness, humility, and love of the game. That's why I love Timmy!

I'll definitely miss watching that #21 hugging the ball before every game starts. I'll miss the chemistry of the Big 3, no other "big 3" is as solid as Tim, Manu, and Tony. I'll miss Timmy. Still. Spurs all the way!!

Also, I think it's about time to officially retire this blog.
