The 2009 NBA Playoffs has begun! I'm so stoked. Here is the list of team ups for the first round:

Of all the teams I've mentioned, the Spurs is closest to my heart. [ain't it obvious?] Some people don't understand the Spurs and they call them dirrty players, which I don't they are and all Spurs fans would definitely agree with me. Of course, I'm a fan. I defend the Spurs whenever their haters keep hatin' on them. But hey, a fan is not just a f-a-n. A fan is someone who shares the same passion with the team he roots for. Whether you're a Spurs fan, a Suns fan, or whatever type of fan, you'll definitely say that "hey, I love my team and win or lose i'll back them up!" So, as much as possible I try to respect other people's opinion about their teams. But sometimes, there are fans that are fond of the blame-it-on-them type of mindset, which I don't really understand. I'm pin-pointing other team fans here. What I'm saying is true because fans of different teams often exchange hurtful words. Very childish. I admit, I was once this childish fan. But not anymore. I do write about KB24 and telling you, my readers, that I don't like him. But that's about it. It stops right there. Are you digesting what I'm saying? Well, anyways, that's all I want to talk about right now.
Wow, I missed logging on to NBA.com. I just wish it wasn't blocked by the technical department here in our office. Sigh!.. But anyways, I was pissed with how the San Antonio Spurs played against the New Orleans Hornets, Boston Celtics, & Philadelphia 76ers! [with a big exclamation mark] And then, there was the suspension of Bruce Bowen. Argh! Bear with me, okay. I was just annoyed by the fact that the regular season is coming to a close and yet the Spurs are struggling. This is the time where they usually put the pieces of the puzzle and gear up for the playoffs. Am I simply expecting too much from them? I guess I am and I think everybody [Spurs fan] is on the same page as well.
All I think of whenever the Spurs lose is that Pop's rotation didn't work and that's all. But there is no room for error now esp with the tight competition in the Western Conference. I wouldn't be this worried if the Spurs are on the East, you know. Sigh! Don't get too stressed like me, okay. I'm fine. I'll get over this for sure. [maybe I'm just so hooked to basketball] Sigh! Again.

This is the final starting lineup: Tony Parker, Michael Finley, Tim Duncan, Bruce Bowen, and Fab Oberto. The bench: Manu Ginobili, Ime Udoka, Kurt Thomas, Jacque Vaughn, Robert Horry, Damon Stoudamire, Matt Bonner, Ian Mahinmi, and Brent Barry*. I know many Manu fans [including me] would disagree with this move, but hey Manu isn't complaining that is the sign of his sportsmanship. Let's just support him and root for him to win the 6th Man of the Year award this season.
Okay, so I was wrong in expecting that the San Antonio Spurs would win against the Detroit Pistons and coach Gregg Popovich a 600th win. The San Antonio Spurs are 23-11 dropping behind the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, LA Lakers, & Portland Trailblazers [!!!]. The game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons proved that the Pistons want to put an end to their losing streak. "We could lose five or six games in a row, but we're the type of team, we don't hang our heads and walk around moping,'' said Rasheed Wallace, who collected 23 pts, 15 rebounds, and 2 blocks. The Pistons outscored the Spurs during the 1st half. As for the Spurs, well, they're still trying to get into their rhythm with 43.3% shooting percentage that's much better than 31.9%, right? "This is a good team. I think, in my opinion, this is one of the teams we'll see in the finals,'' Wallace said. "So, it's always a good game with us and San Antonio.''
“It's still basketball, it's still a game we all love. It's still a matter of going out there and having fun,” said Michael Finley. Righteous, that is. But the truth is I'm starting to get distressed and desperate. I know I shouldn't be looking at the standing just yet, but the Spurs are now on 5th spot. The Spurs have to get back into their rhythm. They don't have back-to-back games this month, so, they better get back soon or they'll be knocked out soon by New Orleans Hornets & Denver Nuggets.
The San Antonio Spurs have the best record at home in the Western Conference. Today the Spurs' record becomes 15-1 as they beat the Bulls 94-79. The Spurs' leading scorer was Tony Parker, collecting 28pts and having 5 assists. Tim Duncan got most of the boards by having 11 rebounds and getting 8 pts and 2 blocks. Ime Udoka had the time of his playing career as a Spur with 12pts [he's one hell of a 3-pointer]. Bruce Bowen & Matt Bonner each had 12pts. And Michael Finley, who's been playing more minutes than he usually does, contributed 15pts. Francisco Elson is back from the injury list but still not in condition with only 2pts, 3 rebounds, & a block. On to the Chicago Bulls side, Ben Wallace wasn't shooting well but Bulls' interim coach Pete Myers said Ben did a good job in containing Duncan. Wallace had 2pts with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even Andres Nocioni wasn't in the rhythm with only 3pts & 4 rebounds. The Bulls' top rebounder was Joe Smith having 11 boards and with 19pts. Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, & Chris Duhon are all in double figures, with 18pts, 12pts, & 13pts respectively. But unfortunately the entire team was only shooting 41% that'll make their record even worse. And honestly, I don't like Pete Myers to be their coach. Peace out Myers fans! [if there are] =P
For injury news, Manu Ginobili, as expected, was out of the game and is going to joined by Brent Barry, who has sported a strained left calf. Just when will the Spurs lineup be complete? This month, the Spurs really filled in their injury list with Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Francisco Elson, & now Brent Barry. Who will be next? I hope none.
