The Chequered Flag Is Up

This is the time when things get really exciting for me. The NBA All-Star has started and Formula 1 is about to start soon!.. I know it's kinda unusual for a lady like me to be into sports like basketball and car racing, but hey I really enjoy sports! That's what's important, right? I haven't been able to watch Formula 1 last season because of the exciting postseason [NBA, San Antonio Spurs, Finals]. And now that it's about to start, I'll try to keep myself in-the-know about Formula 1. I remember the days of Michael Schumacher whose had 7 championships. He's dominated almost every race which I eventually find boring. Even his brother Ralf couldn't keep up with him. But now that he's retired [that was actually a long time ago] and Ferrari acquired a new set of drivers [Kimi Raikkonen & Felipe Massa], Formula 1 isn't going to be predictable like before.

Do it. - Steve Nash

I'm loving the numbers I'm getting from the boxscores of the San Antonio Spurs starting from their game against the Indiana Pacers to the Washington Wizards. I'm happy that the Spurs are back in the rhythm despite the absence of Tony Parker and Brent Barry. But what I've been thinking about lately was the O'neal-Marion&Banks trade. I just don't think Shaq will fit into the Suns style of play. “I look forward to making people eat their words,", said O'neal. Well, if he wants people to eat their words, then, why hasn't he proven himself during his stay as a Heat? Critics won't come up with such an idea if he hasn't shown his weaknesses.

Oh well. What I know now is that the Phoenix Suns is really serious in making it to the Finals and win the NBA Championship. For the past seasons, the Suns has become one of the elite teams in the West. But despite all effort esp from Steve Nash, the Suns just couldn't get through the Finals. Mike D'Antoni, I guess, have just realized that being edgy on the offensive end isn't enough. And so, the acquisition of Shaq was made in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks [don't know him]. If Shaq stays healthy, he could help the Suns become a balanced team both in the offensive and the defensive end. The big question now is, will Shaq be able to bring the Suns to the Finals? The West is just teeming with top caliber teams like the rising New Orleans Hornets*, Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trailblazers*, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, LA Lakers, and Golden State Warriors [have i missed some team?]. "That just shows you how good the West is and how dominant a lot of teams are," Robert Horry said. So, will the Suns be able to get passed those teams come playoffs time? "Even though he was playing at a high level, I sensed he was frustrated," said Steve Kerr, Phoenix Suns General Manager.

Mighty Mouse??

The San Antonio Spurs won against the Phoenix Suns and it's one of those games were they played great defensively. I hope the win against the mighty Suns is the beginning of the Spurs getting-into-the-rhythm state despite Tony Parker's absence. Speaking of mighty, Mighty Mouse, former-Grizzly, is playing for the Spurs. Damon Stoudamire aka Mighty Mouse is now officially a part of the Spurs team. I don't know when Mighty Mouse is gonna play though but I hope he doesn't play like Nick Van Exel, the baldness! =s The next game of the San Antonio Spurs is gonna be against the Indiana Pacers. [Game preview] Manu Ginobili is going to play more minutes but not too much I think because he might run out of gas. Damon Stoudamire is going to give the Spurs' bench the spark that was usually provided by Manu. We'll see if Mighty Mouse is fit to become a Spur. [got no picture of him]
